We will operate in compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, and we will strive to use pollution prevention and environmental best practices in all we do.

Energy and Climate Change Policy

Our energy and GHG emissions goals and reporting cover facilities owned or leased by GenBioCa. Our goals for energy efficiency and conservation, renewable electricity procurement and GHG emissions reduction include:

Our GHG emissions reduction goals achieve a rate of reduction that exceeds what scientists from the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) indicate is necessary to limit Earth’s warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.

Data Energy Efficiency

Our approach to managing and enhancing the energy efficiency of our data centres is comprehensive, encompassing various strategies such as optimizing existing space to improve workload per area, upgrading IT infrastructure to reduce energy consumption, and leasing new, more efficient spaces.

We measure the power usage effectiveness at the data s we operate where possible and obtain PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) data from landlords of co-location data centres.

Use of Renewable Electricity

GenBioCa aims to power our offices with 100% renewable electricity by the end of 2025.

We do not purchase unbundled renewable energy certificates representing energy we cannot consume, which would inflate our results. We continued to make progress toward our renewable electricity procurement goal, selecting vendors having renewable electricity purchases for our GenBioCa data centre is managed by third party vendors.

Conservation and Biodiversity

To mainstream the concept of biodiversity across GenBioCa and adopt a precautionary approach for sustainable management of biodiversity in all decision-making processes so that the earth’s variety of life is ensured in and around the business divisions of GenBioCa. The policy also aims to adopt systematic consideration of local threats to biodiversity beyond the company’s business activities.

Water Conservation

Our water conservation goal is to achieve year-to-year reductions in water withdrawals at GenBioCa locations in water-stressed regions.

Paper

We have a ZERO paper use policy at GenBioCa. We encourage our suppliers and partners to not send us any papers or paper-based packages/products/documents.

Non-hazardous Waste

GenBioCa aims to reduce overflowing garbage bins and unnecessary truck visits to collect waste to tackle core issues of sustainability and maintaining a green environment. By implementing sustainable and innovative solutions, GenBioCa not only reduced waste products, but also recovered, recycled, and made better use dispose of the waste by educating all stakeholders.
