SAS Viya Administrator

SAS Viya Administrator will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, administration, and health of the SAS Viya environments. This role is crucial for provisioning the POC/Tiered sandbox environments (Tier 1, 2, 3) and managing the target production architecture (On-prem, Cloud, or Hybrid).

Key Responsibilities

1. Deployment & Configuration: Deploy and configure SAS Viya in multi-cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) or on-premise Kubernetes environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
2. POC Environment Management: Rapidly provision and manage the “Viya Test Drive” environments for client POCs as defined in the strategy.
3. Security & Authorization: Implement and manage Viya’s dual authorization model (General + CAS), integrating with LDAP/Active Directory and OAuth 2.0.
4. Performance Monitoring: Monitor system health, implement Prometheus/Grafana, and fine-tune CAS (Cloud Analytic Services) for optimal performance and resource utilization.
5. Automation: Develop automated deployment scripts to spin up and tear down sandbox environments quickly.
6. Disaster Recovery: Design and implement backup and DR strategies specific to Viya’s Kubernetes architecture.

Essential Skills & Experience

1. 5+ years of experience in enterprise system administration.
2. 3+ years of hands-on experience with SAS Viya administration and its Kubernetes-based deployment.
3. Strong experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) in a production environment.
4. Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation.
5. Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Desirable Certifications

1. SAS Viya Administration Certification.
2. Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
3. AWS Solutions Architect Associate or equivalent (Azure/GCP).
